Micah Flint, MPA, RN, DINPH


Micah Flint joined INMED in 2004 as a volunteer and then as the CEO in 2005.  He served as CEO for four years while the organization grew rapidly.  Micah has since served as the Chief Programs Officer and now the Chief Innovations Officer, where he oversees the development of new INMED programs. Micah’s expertise is in disaster management, innovative entrepreneurship, public health leadership, and program evaluation.  Micah is married to INMED graduate Jennifer Rathburn, a Pediatric Critical Care Physician.  Jen and Micah share their passion for international health service with their two daughters by volunteering at the Baptist Medical Centre as family.

Nicholas’ Speakers Bureau


Nicholas Comninellis is Dean and President of INMED, the Institute for International Medicine. He is also faculty in the Department of Medical Humanities at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine. Over a two year period Dr. Comninellis served inner city citizens at Shanghai Charity Hospital, and over another two years lead a healthcare ministry in the war-besieged nation of Angola in southern Africa. Dr. Comninellis next served for six years in the Kansas City public hospital before launching INMED in 2003. He attended the UMKC School of Medicine, the Saint Louis University School of Public Health, and was a family medicine resident at John Peter Smith Hospital. Dr. Comninellis also earned a professional diploma in tropical medicine from the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, and is board certified in both public health and family medicine.



Don Philgreen, MD


A certified Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) instructor, Dr. Philgreen is a faculty physician at the Research Family Medicine Residency. His medical experience includes four years service on the Gila River Indian Reservation. In 2004 he was named the Missouri Family Physician of the Year. Dr. Philgreen has delivered 4,050 babies, and counting.
