Quality medical care in low-resource settings is often hampered by lack of objective clinical information. ultrasonography is a useful technology in such settings, providing vital data to support patient care decision-making. This course enhances performance and interpretation for ultrasonography of carotid, thyroid, heart, lung, aorta, abdomen, urinary tract, DVT screening, joint and venous access, and eFAST exam.

This is a hybrid learning experience that combines online preparation with a one-day in-classroom workshop that provides hands-on skills in thyroid, venous and DVT screening, vascular and carotid, abdominal and renal, cardiac, thoracic, joint and venous access imaging.

Proceed through this content in chronological order. Click the “Mark Complete” button at the end of each section. Note: To view the full width of each page without scrolling left to right, please collapse the left-side menu using the arrow in the top left of the page. The online learning experience requires about 6 hours and must be completed prior to participating in the in-classroom workshop..

Give special attention to the two last sections. In-Classroom Ultrasound Skills Workshop Resources includes the Ultrasound Skills Demonstration Checklist. Print a paper copy, bring it with you to the workshop, demonstrate your skills throughout the day, and have each skill signed off by a course faculty. At the conclusion of the day, please take a photo of your completed checklist and then turn in the paper copy to the course faculty.

Once you have finished the in-classroom workshop, open the Professional Qualification Course in Ultrasound for Primary Care Evaluation and click the link to open and complete the Course Evaluation. This is required in order for you to receive your continuing education certificate or certificate of completion, which will be emailed to you within 5 business days. The one-day in-classroom workshop learning experience is accredited for 6 hours of CME.
