International HIV Medicine Course Welcome
Providing HIV intervention in low-resource communities requires a unique skill set.
Many developing nations are faced by both a large number of citizens with HIV infection and very limited resources with which to respond. HIV management in low-resource settings demands a unique skill set. The purpose of this course is to prepare health care professionals to lead effective low-resource HIV interventions.
This course is designed to be an introduction to HIV care in low-resource settings. Upon this introduction, learners can build their knowledge and skills through:
- Study of numerous excellent HIV resources, such as those published by the WHO and CDC
- Taking part in supervised HIV interventions in developing nations
HIV management is a field in rapid development. Therefore, for specific medication protocols, indications, dosages and adverse effects, please refer to the most up-to-date resources available.
