International Pharmacy Diploma Applicant Info
The INMED academic calendar runs from July of each year through June of the following year, similar to that of U.S. medical schools and residency programs. Elective can begin at any time and last a minimum of four weeks. Applications are accepted continuously until all available openings are filled. Students will be notified immediately upon receiving their applications. Please view the TimeTable for Diploma preparation details. Application must be received at least three months prior to departure.
| FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY |
Students are ultimately responsible for all expenses associated with INMED International Pharmacy Diploma training. A non-refundable application fee of $100 is due at the time of application. The enrollment fee, which includes a $150 deposit, is due within 30 days after the student's application is accepted and a training site is secured. If the participant completes all requirements of the International Pharmacy Diploma Program, the $150 deposit is returned to the participant.
The enrollment fee is as follows:

The enrollment fee covers:
- International Medical Professional Liability Coverage for up to 30 days
- Traveler's Emergency Evacuation and Medical Insurance policy for up to 60 days
- Registration of traveling American students with the United States Department of State
- Registration for an INMED International Medicine Intensive Hybrid Course
- Copy of the book INMED International Medicine
- Copy of the book Handbook of Medicine In Developing Countries
- Scheduling at a well-established international training site
- Assistance with arranging airline tickets, visa, and accommodations
- Liaison with educational institutions to assure academic credit
- Certificate suitable for framing
- Free admission to the annual INMED Exploring Medical Missions Conference
- INMED T-shirt
| FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE |
INMED will establish on behalf of any Certificate student a Scholarship Fund to assist with Certificate-related expenses. A tax-deductible receipt will be provided to anyone making a financial contribution toward a student's Scholarship Fund. There is a ten percent administration fee for all electronic gifts made to this fund and an eight percent administration fee for all other gifts made to this fund. Financial Aid is also available for INMED International Pharmacy Certificate students in the form of scholarships. Other suggestions for personal fundraising are included on this page.
| CERTIFICATION |
Students who successfully complete the above course of study will receive the INMED International Pharmacy Diploma. Verification of the educational experience will be provided to the student's affiliated school or residency program. Graduates are entitled to include initials D.I.P. (Diploma in International Pharmacy) following their names.
| APPLICATION |
To apply for the INMED International Pharmacy Diploma, please submit the online Application at least six months prior to departure. Completion of this application is essential before INMED can schedule an international medicine service learning elective. A non-refundable application fee of $100 is due at the time of submission. The enrollment fee, which includes a $150 deposit, is due within 30 days after the student's application is accepted and a training site is secured. If the participant completes all requirements of the International Pharmacy Diploma Program, the $150 deposit is returned to the participant. Seventy-five percent of the enrollment fee is refundable up to 60 days prior to beginning the service learning elective.
Upon receiving your completed application, INMED will request a letter of recommendation from a student's or resident's faculty who has supervised the student or resident on a clinical rotation. For graduates, INMED will request a letter of recommendation from a professional colleague. The letter of recommendation should include:
- Description of relationship with the applicant
- Reasons why the applicant should be considered for an international rotation
- Any reservations about the applicant's ability to perform and adapt in the context of an international rotation
