International Medical Professional Liability Coverage
INMED has enjoyed the privilege of providing quality international medicine education experiences for healthcare profession students and professionals since 2003. As the leader in international medicine education, INMED continually evaluates our educational and logistical outcomes as well as assuring that our participants have a safe learning experience.
| WHY IS INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY COVERAGE NECESSARY? |
The phenomenon of globalization has increased the exchange of ideas and resources. One such exchange has been the introduction of medical lawsuits in developing countries brought against expats. In a survey of long-term medical missionaries by the Christian Medical Dental Association, 20% of the survey respondents had been involved in a lawsuit while working in a developing country.
INMED is not aware of any of our past students, representatives, or staff having ever been involved in a medical liability lawsuit in a developing country. Although the numbers of lawsuits brought against expatriate medical practitioners in developing countries is nominal, INMED's priority is to assure that our participants are provided with the necessary tools and resources to promote a safe international experience and to protect their medical licenses and career. To this end, INMED has established a partnership with an international medical liability trust to provide medical liability services to our students and representatives.
